Over the past year, ARD and ZDF have launched their online content network „funk“, for 14-29 year-olds. With now more than 70 formats and almost 300 million views, funk has become a major player in creating fictional and non-fictional content on social networks and third-party platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
In this talk, funk Creative Producer Thilo Kasper will share some hands-on learnings and methods for both creation and distribution of multi-platform online video content, using compelling examples from the funk network. There will also be time for your questions.
Thilo Kasper is Creative Producer at funk, the online content network of ARD and ZDF. He develops and manages fictional and non-fictional web video formats, such as the Snapchat soap opera „iam.serafina“ or the political show „Deutschland3000“ on Facebook.
Before funk, Thilo worked as a freelance producer for BuzzFeed Motion Pictures, was program manager of the journalism innovation hub „Vocer Innovation Medialab“ and experimented with Internet Memes as journalistic tools for major media outlets, such as ZEIT Online.
Thilo studied Communication Design with a focus on Design Research and Design Thinking in Karlsruhe, Berlin, Amsterdam, Potsdam and Reading, Pennsylvania. In 2015 he was awarded „Top 30 under 30“ journalist by German Medium Magazin. He lives and works in Berlin and Mainz.
